Bug Glorious Bugs

This half term class 9 went on their first big learning adventure. We went on a coach all the way to the Butterfly House to see lots of different creatures. We hoped we were going to see lots of butterflies and insects and we were not disappointed.

First we saw a rabbit and learnt that rabbits are mammals because they have fur. Next we saw an owl; we even got to hold it using a special glove. We had to remember not to touch the owls face. Finally we saw a snake; we learnt that snakes are reptiles.

After we met the animals we went to explore the tropical butterfly house. It was really hot and quite smelly! We had to remember to wash our hands before and after we explored the tropical butterfly house. We had our eyes peeled and looked closely for butterflies, terrapins, ants, spiders and frogs and used our digital cameras to take lot of photos.

Later we had time to look at the other animals and we even got the chance to feed a baby meerkat with worms!

Since our trip we have done lots of leaning all based around the bugs and animals we met the butterfly house.

We made drawings using 2paint and we used microphones to make a blog about our trip. Visit our radio station to watch our video blog @ www.radiowaves.co.uk/bmiradio
